Shots in the Dark (watch it HERE on youtube!) is a Canadian-made documentary about vaccinations and their undesirable effects. An excerpt from the film synopsis:
“Far from rejecting the documented benefits of vaccination, Shots in the Dark makes very clear that, in the name of the greater good, great suffering has been inflicted on the most vulnerable members of society. And the film asks the necessary question, at what point is this trade-off unacceptable?”
What a great question. I don’t know anyone who would suggest that vaccinations are not useful. And I love that the film doesn’t bring that into question. They go much, much further than that and discusses topics such as:
Why are so few people are compensated for vaccine reactions
Why there is any doubt about whether or not vaccines can cause illness (Seriously. Why? Read the vaccine insert - it’s well documented that vaccines can cause undesirable side effects!)
Why big pharma is allowed to calls the shots when it comes to vaccine research
I urge everyone to watch this revealing video series (there’s 8 parts on youtube - each about 10 minutes long). I’m not trying to make anyone anti-vaccine. I’m just all about informed consent, and I do NOT believe that informed consent is being obtained in most cases of vaccination.
However, the video series I’m currently talking about is hosted by a Benedictine nun and MD who holds a PhD in Public Health. What’s she talking about?
The flu.
Just to whet your whistle, she discusses …
how the A-H1N1 flu is actually not a new virus
how the WHO changed the definition of ‘pandemic’ for 2009 (leaving out the critical part about increased mortality) and just happens to also hold political power when a ‘pandemic’ is declared
some inconsistencies in this years’ flu vaccination program - ie. a two-dose shot, increased amounts of untested adjuvants, and pharmaceutical companies asking for immunity from governments so as not to be held responsible should adverse reactions occur …
that the swine flu is, by all accounts, a more mild virus than the seasonal flu and therefore, people should be refusing vaccinations … and, the thing that got me, that if there comes to be a large increase in the numbers of people getting sick and/or dying, then it is NOT due to the swine flu and therefore the shot won’t protect you against the new mutated strain anyways
There’s lots more to the videos (6 in all), but I can’t remember all her points. Honestly, the video series is VERY well prepared and, I found, quite grippe-ing. (I know. I’m so sorry. I couldn’t help it.) Please watch it.
I just busy. And feeling like I’m not sure what to write. And I haven’t a clue where my camera cable is. Time for a bulleted list, anyone?
I’m 23 weeks pregnant now. Over halfway, 5 more weeks in my second trimester. Wow. Brad got to feel Love Bug kick this morning. I think that’s one of my favourite pregnancy experiences
Our kitchen is coming along swimmingly. Cabinets are in, sink and flooring are purchased and the counter-top people are coming on Monday to do the template.
I’m getting sick of living in renovation-land. I’m ready to have a working kitchen and dining room and to dig my living room out from underneath the paraphenalia associated with each unfinished area. Sooooo ready.
I’ve been reading quite a bit! I finished ‘Kids Are Worth It!’ by Barbara Coloroso and LOVED IT - thanks for the recommendation, Chelsea! I’m almost finished ‘The Continuum Concept’ by Jean Leidhoff and am enjoying it immensely. Lots of interesting information that’s making me think long and hard about Western life.
I’m knitting too! I’ve started some Christmas knitting, as well as a pair of socks for Gwen. Too cute.
My brother-in-law and his girlfriend are spending a few weeks with us, which I love. I love having people here to share my day with - and Gwen loves having more big people to follow around and imitate!
Next weekend I have an all-day LLL conference to attend. Should be interesting with Gwen.
I have an appointment with a thrombosis clinic next week to check out my varicose veins - I’m looking forward to finding out what’s going on in there.
I’m pretty sure we’re not doing the H1N1 vaccine. 99.8% of me is comfortable not being vaccinated - after all, I don’t ever get the seasonal flu shot … but there is 0.02% of me that’s terrified by all the fear-mongering. If I wasn’t pregnant, I’d be 100% sure I wasn’t getting it.
I’m newly addicted to the show Gossip Girl. It’s horrid. But good knitting entertainment!
Well, the appointment went well. And, thank goodness, Gwen is NOT teething, as we thought she might be! There was a funky white nodule on her gum and we couldn’t figure out what it would be other than a tooth - which we thought was the reason she’s been so unhappy lately. Apparently, though, it’s a cyst. The doctor didn’t seem too surprised, so I guess they’re fairly common. Weird. Read the rest of this entry »
