Gwen’s in a big girl bed

I’ve totally been a blog slacker. I’ve realized in the last week or so that the reason I’m a blog slacker is because I no longer have either a) a baby sleeping in my arms with nothing better to do than go on the computer or b) a baby who takes two 1.5 naps per day.

I now have a 19-month-old toddler who sleeps in a big girl bed.

Yep, that’s right. Last week, we decided that we might be using the crib in a side-car arrangement so then we should do something about where Gwen is going down to sleep.

This is Gwen sleeping in my old daybed for a nap. So. Stinkin’. Little!

She’s actually doing really well - we had a few days of sleep disturbance (not for the nighttime, but for naps!) but she seems to be doing just fine now.

So yeah. The 1.5 hours of naps I get a day now? I like sitting and knitting. And she’s going to bed around 8:30 - 9:00pm, which means our evenings are not so lazy anymore either. I suppose I could blog while she’s awake … but she’s really good at banging on my keyboard ;)

(And yes. I know we need to paint Gwen’s room.)

she is so cute and tiny. i love the sheets. kudos for skipping the crib rail! its the only thing that makes me feel safe about liam sleeping in his bed (but then he is A LOT bigger than gwen and it’s not against a wall on either side… still.. you are brave!)

Jenny - we keep an extra mattress under that bed, so when she’s asleep, we pull it out … that way if she falls, it’s onto a mattress. She’s also really not a big sleep mover (when sleeping alone) … she’s literally in the same position when I go in after her nap as I put her in at the beginning, so we weren’t too concerned! LOL

yeah i remember about the mattress but i would still be too scared!! i’d picture liam rolling off both *eye roll* i’m sooooo paranoid its pathetic. i think it’s because i’ve seen him go ass over tea kettle off our bed and while he laughed, i was terrified
