The “dup-doo” patch!
On October 25 (which happens to be mine and Brad’s dating anniversary - this year we’ve been together 9 years!), we took Gwen to a local pumpkin patch.
This child loves pumpkins, or ‘dup-doo’s.
This pumpkin was extra special because it was also a duck.
We went down the slide, and took a hayride …
Out to the pumpkin patch!
I’ve never seen my kid as excited as she was to be surrounded by so many pumpkins!! She was running in place and saying “Dup-doo! Dup-doo!” and pointing here and there.
Brad helped her climb on this pumpkin and about 0.3 seconds after I snapped this picture, she fell down the side of it face-first. Her nose and chin were red for a few minutes and she was a bit concerned, but no tears!
What a cute little girl, huh?
Our admission covered the choosing of two pumpkins at the patch - here are ours
And here’s Gwen trying to pull them to the car. After a bit we gave up with this plan and let her ride with them …
All in all, a fantastic few hours. We had so much fun getting out as a family and enjoying each others’ company. Brad and I often talk about how wonderful it is to experience parts of life for the first time through Gwen’s enjoyment of them. This was most definitely one of those times! We can’t wait to do it again next year ![]()

Aww how sweet, it looks like you guys had a great time! Bubs was also very taken with the ‘pukin’ as he called it, and very upset when it had to be removed from the doorstep! Halloween was so much fun - but just imagine what Christmas is going to be like this year! Can’t wait!
