18 Weeks! Ultrasound!

Unbelievably, I’m 18 weeks pregnant already. How on earth is this happening so quickly?

We had our second trimester ultrasound this afternoon and it was fun. Apparently the baby was so wiggly the tech had issues getting all the pictures she needed. And, since my placenta is in the front, that’s why it’s so difficult for me to feel the movement. And guess what? We’re having …

A BABY!

Heartbeat was 155 bpm and we got to see brain and heart and arms and legs and pulsing umbilical cord. And my mom got to see it too :)

And for those of you who are interested in what my nasty veins look like (because I know I would TOTALLY want to see them!) I took some pictures. If you don’t want to see nasty veins, don’t scroll down.

Yum. These pictures, sadly, don’t quite do them the justice they deserve. But you get the idea ;)

    So exciting!

Those veins on the other hand, so not exciting. Do they go away after delivery?

They mostly did the first time, but we’re thinking not so much this time.
