I had the same (worst, actually) - and then we installed the akismet spam filter for wordpress. It says: Akismet has caught 149,229 spam for you since you first installed it. (a year ago?) It currently has caught 490 in the last 15 days. I find it works quite well, and really, I’d have to turn off comments if I didn’t have it.
Crystle, that’s awesome - I did a quick search for a solution and found that there are lots of plugins. Thanks for the recommendation for Akismet!! I will look into installing that for Kim.
Oh, I’ve got akismet, but I’ve had a few instances of it spamming actual comments, so I’m always checking it to make sure they’re spam comments. That’s what I meant - the comments are in my akismet thinger.
I’ve had Moveable Type, Wordpress and Blogger blogs for years now. Even with the plugins, the Wordpress blog is especially prone to spam. The blogger blog rarely gets spam, but your limited in what you can do with a Blogger blog as well.
