Birthday Celebrations!

Saturday was my 25th birthday. We didn’t do a whole lot, but it was a great day nonetheless! Brad got up (at 6:20!) with Gwen and let me sleep until she needed to nurse - which was around 8. Ah, bliss! We got our favourite Saturday morning breakfast - a breakfast sandwich from the Locke Street Bakery. Mmmmm.

I opened my card from my sister Jenny, which included a Chapters gift certificate, so Brad dropped me off at Chapters and took Gwen with him to do a bit of shopping. It’s the first time I’ve been in a store alone since her birth! I enjoyed wandering around and looking at books and just taking my time. I ended up picking up Deceptively Delicious and The New Strong-Willed Child.

When we got home, I put dinner on and Brad gave me my present - Seasons 1, 2.0, and 2.5 of Battlestar Galactica!! Now we never have to stop watching them :) We watched a couple of episodes on Saturday night while I knit on the sock I’m working to finish.

Yesterday, my parents came up (with dinner in hand) and we enjoyed a nice afternoon, dinner, and evening together!! My mama made me chicken and dumplings (my favourite meal EVER) and a beautiful birthday cake.

Honestly, my mother makes the best cake and frosting in the world. Hands down. The cake was quite fitting since my parents’ gift to me was …

Enough malabrigo merino wool - colour 56, ‘Olive’ - to make February Lady.

This sweater is going to be gorgeous.
