And the verdict is …
An ear infection!
Apparently in Europe they wait out ear infections more than we do here in North America. I’ve got antibiotics in the fridge waiting until she at least develops a fever.
And the doctor is unconvinced that Gwen is teething.

If her ears are bothering her, and you want to avoid the drops - you could always use some warm oil for her ears for comfort. Mineral oil will do.
I hope she feels better soon!

Jen - great idea! I was going to head out to Goodness Me for some Hyland’s drops, but maybe I’ll try that first.
Jenny - I think she’s teething too

I just found your blog through Jen (Adventures of Being a Mommy) since you left a comment there and mentioned your daughter’s name. My daughter is Gwen too (April 24, 2008 - same day as Anderson!). I just think it’s funny to ‘meet’ another Gwen since it’s such a rarely-used name these days. Sorry to hear about the ear infection! Do you mind if I add you to my blogroll?

That’s too funny! Is your daughter Gwen, Gwendolyn, or Gweneth, or a derivation thereof?? I think Jen’s commented on your photos in Facebook before and I found it funny that there was another Gwen the same age! Apparently we both have good style! I’m off to check out your blog
Oh, and feel free to add me to your blogroll!

She’s Gwendolyn. How about yours? Yes I do think we have good style! I really wanted a classic name: something simple that everyone would know how to spell & pronounce, but also didn’t want her to be the 10th “Jennifer” in her class. How did you arrive at the name?

She’s Gwendolyn, too! Her name was going to be Eleanor but my hubby and I couldn’t decide on a short form of it that we both liked and I wasn’t sold on calling her “Eleanor” all the time. So a week before we had her (didn’t know what we were having), my hubby came up with Gwen - I loved it because it’s uncommon and oh so classic and feminine. We didn’t decide on Gwendolyn until after the birth - hubby let me pick between Gwendolyn and Gwyneth
